Amid the bone fragments scattered across the floor, Eric was hard at work searching for the armor's essential parts.
"It's such a mess here. Do you still need to look?" Pan Long asked, puzzled.
Eric did not answer. He just kept searching.
"That's how he is. Once he decides to do something, he has to see it through. Otherwise, he won't be able to eat or sleep properly all day," Jerrod explained. "What's that called again?"

In the game, every NPC adventurer had certain positive or negative personality traits. Obsessive-compulsive disorder was a negative one. People with it often did pointless or even harmful things simply because they felt they ought to.
For example, when passing a special location that might contain treasure, players would often think, It probably won't have anything good, and there might be danger. Better leave it alone. But an NPC adventurer with obsessive-compulsive disorder would often open it at all costs, and frequently fall into a trap as a result.
Of course, the compulsion was not necessarily "open every treasure chest." It could be something else, like "destroy every alchemy table used for evil research" or "disarm every trap." There were plenty of other possibilities.
Pan Long had thought Jerrod, whose eyes lit up at the sight of money, might have that trait. As it turned out, Jerrod just liked money a normal amount. It was Eric, who seemed to have such a good disposition, who had this rather dangerous problem.
You really can't judge what's in a person's heart by their face...
