Count Hamlet and Pan Long talked for a long time before finally settling on a plan.
The plan was much like the plot Pan Long remembered from playing the game. They would establish outposts step by step inside the labyrinth, staffed in shifts by relatively trustworthy adventurers or those who valued their lives enough to be careful. That would keep the stored supplies from being destroyed by the monsters within.
With these outposts, adventurers could explore the labyrinth much faster and with far greater safety.
Count Hamlet had wanted to do this for a long time, but he had never had the means.
Establishing an outpost in the dark labyrinth was no easy task. First, they needed a powerful Holy Relic to drive away evil. Then they needed a campfire that would never go out to dispel the darkness. Finally, they needed strong guards to fend off any monsters that might attack.
He had a Holy Relic. Firewood could be delivered continuously to keep a campfire burning. But he had never been able to solve the problem of the guards.
Monsters could move freely through the dark labyrinth. They usually wandered around aimlessly, but with someone to lead them, they could easily form a vast army and attack an underground outpost.
Hamlet Town, meanwhile, had no way to locate the monster army's main force in advance and wipe it out.
That meant they could only wait to be attacked. Worse, the monsters might deliberately strike when the defenses were at their weakest.
Count Hamlet had thought about it for a long time without finding a solution.
But Pan Long's arrival made even this hardest problem easy to solve.
Pan Long could see in the dark. He was utterly unafraid of the Evil Aura and pressure permeating the labyrinth, and his
