As demons went, Deceiver Demons were hardly high-ranking, but they were distinctive even among the demons of the Abyss.
These low-level demons were unremarkable in attack, defense, speed, and spellcasting, yet they possessed extraordinary vitality. As long as they did not die on the spot, they could recover completely in about a minute, even if they had only one breath left. They were cockroaches that simply would not die.
If vitality were all they had, they would be nothing more than living shields. But Deceiver Demons had another special ability: they could turn that vitality into formidable combat power.
Revenge Aura.
When a Deceiver Demon was injured, every creature within roughly ten meters that did not belong to the Tanar'ri Demon race suffered the same injury.
It was a terrifying supernatural ability. No spell or power could block it; even a supreme expert with a mighty body and abundant vitality could only reduce its effect by about half.
So when fighting these demons, you had to keep your distance. Close combat was out of the question.
The Deceiver Demons knew this well. Not only did they like moving in groups, they often brought along one or two fellow Tanar'ri skilled at tying down opponents. They were willing to pay a price for it.
Once they closed to within ten meters, these otherwise weak demons would attack one another like mad, rapidly piling up injuries.
Through the power of Revenge Aura, their opponent would suffer a mountain of damage in an instant. No matter how strong that opponent was, unless they were exceptionally hard to kill, they would probably go down at once.
The good warriors of Andralina had fallen for this trick more than once over the years.
And the most terrifying ability of the evolved Deceiver Demon Cold Snicker
