Pan Long had expected the Abyss's will to punish Cang Ye with something as earthshaking as the Nine Heavens Thunder Tribulation.
Instead, he was sorely disappointed. After the Abyss's will descended and announced that Cang Ye would be punished, nothing else happened. It was as if the director had been too stingy to spend even fifty cents on special effects and had left the actors to make up for it with their performances.
And the "actor" who had to make up for the director's stinginess was, of course, the Demon Mother, Cang Ye.
She clearly had not suffered any additional injury, yet her screams suddenly grew louder than before. Pinned by the divine spear, her body thrashed and twisted wildly, contorting into shapes no creature with bones or tendons could possibly achieve.
Just looking at her gave Pan Long the illusion that his whole body ached.
It was like watching an actor portray an injury so convincingly that, even though nothing hurt on your own body, you could not help thinking, Damn, that really hurts!
