Volume Four: Buddha Saves No One; Only I, the Devil, Shall Save Them - A New Age of Matchmaking for Magic Beasts (Part One)
"An Immortal..."
Luo Qian froze, then rejoiced. A savior had come! Sure enough, the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon stopped attacking. But Luo Qian looked around and saw no savior. As he searched, the voice sounded again, right beside his ear. "An Immortal..." He froze once more.
"Who are you? Where are you?" Luo Qian shouted. Crack! Rock split beneath his feet, and he shot upward. Six enormous, thick black serpent tails crossed and wove themselves into a net, lifting the sphere of light around him high into the air. The jagged fangs in the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon's mouth loomed larger and larger before his eyes. Suddenly he understood: he had been raised right in front of the crowned dragon head!
Up close, the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon was even more terrifying. That head still regarded him with a king's gaze, tilting its proud brow slightly to look down at Luo Qian.
"Immortal, you have offended Strathas, the supreme King of Magic Beasts!" the deep, resonant voice said again, now tinged with displeasure. Luo Qian started. "It was you!" The Nine-Headed Demon Dragon snorted, sending two snakelike streams of white vapor from its cavernous nostrils. "In the territory of Strathas, King of Magic Beasts, who else could it be?"
Beasts had a fierce sense of territory, and even Strathas, the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon and King of Magic Beasts, was no exception. Any creature that approached his domain would be treated as an enemy.
"Strathas, King of Magic Beasts..." Luo Qian murmured the name. He had never heard it before, but after seeing the Nine-Headed Demon Dragon's power, he did not dare doubt the title in the slightest. In fact, Strathas was a legend even in the Demon Realm. No one, however, knew his lair lay within the Broken Range.
