If Luo Qian had not blundered in and been caught, Li Feier's secret-passage plan would already have succeeded. To be fair, he could hardly have expected the Li Household's defenses to be even tighter than the Clear Xiang Aristocratic Clan's. Experts filled the estate like storm clouds before a downpour—not a clear sky for miles. He and Tian Shun'er had slipped past only three Side Courtyards before they were discovered. Whistles shrilled throughout the estate. Luo Qian held back; this was Li Feier's home, after all, and he dared not fight in earnest. As more and more people surrounded them, escaping without hurting anyone became all but hopeless. He could only surrender.

To his surprise, when Li Feier's brother saw him, his expression was Pale. He ordered the two of them bound without a trace of mercy and brought to Li Feier's courtyard—only to discover, to his astonishment, that she was gone!

That was how Luo Qian came to be used as a human bomb to blast through the ground, collapsing Li Feier's secret passage.

With her powers sealed, Li Feier was as helpless as a chick before her brother. He hauled her out of the passage on the spot. Furious, she forgot all about the respect a younger sister owed an elder brother. "Li Tang, put me down!" Her brother, Li Tang, gave a cold laugh. He felt around again, then said awkwardly, "Only two Immortal-Binding Ropes left. What am I to do? You're getting more unruly by the day, little girl. Just look at the state you're in."

Li Feier knew she could hardly look dignified. She had spent the entire day digging a tunnel and was drenched in sweat. Having been alone in her room, she had not tended to her appearance either. After all that exertion,
