"Mr. Luo Qian, it's been a long time. How have you been?" Devil King Sean knew how to make anyone useful feel as though they were basking in a spring breeze. Luo Qian offered a perfunctory smile and replied with feigned warmth, "I'm well, my friend. How about you?"
After exchanging pleasantries, Sean invited Luo Qian into the Secret Chamber. Luo Qian glanced at Hua Diao, then hesitated.
"I have a big deal in mind. I wonder if Your Highness dares take it." Sean did not take the bait. "A deal is a matter of willingness, not courage."
"The Purgatory Furnace." Sean gave a slight shudder. His self-control was remarkable, but his subordinate had no such skill. Hua Diao's reaction gave the game away.
Alaparis was known as the Demon Realm's foremost Alchemist. How could Sean accept that? Luo Qian suspected Sean had been plotting against Alaparis in secret, which was why he had come to propose a partnership. Hua Diao's reaction confirmed it.
"That?" Sean smiled. "Everyone in the Demon Realm knows it's in Alaparis's hands." He sounded perfectly indifferent, as though the matter had nothing to do with him. Luo Qian said, "Your Highness has a generous heart. If someone were lording it over me thanks to an outstanding Magic Device, I'd be so angry my lungs would burst!"
Sean smiled, but Luo Qian's barbed words made Hua Diao tremble with anger.
"Mr. Luo, what exactly are you getting at?" Sean asked. "Forgive my dullness, but I really don't understand." Luo Qian had extensive business interests in the Demon Realm, and with business booming, this was the perfect time to earn Immortal Jade. He had no wish to waste too much time on this.
"Your Highness, let's be frank. I know perfectly well how much you hate Alaparis.
