What still troubled Tang Changsheng was the Gourd Immortal Abode. How was the Protector King Divine General faring now?
Since all the Five Camps Yin Soldiers had been lost, and only one or two practitioners remained at the General's Temple, including Tang Changsheng himself, the Protector King Divine General had become the temple's last trump card—and its greatest. Nothing could be allowed to happen to him!
That reminded Tang Changsheng of the temples he had asked Da Xiang to build in Lower River. He wondered whether they were finished.
Whatever else might be said, Incense and Fire Prayer Power was essential to the Divine Way. Now that the Protector King Divine General had awakened, he presumably needed it too!
With that in mind, Tang Changsheng called to ask.
Da Xiang said things were a little troublesome, but told Tang Changsheng not to worry. It would take a few more days, that was all; he would see it done.
The main problem was that the General's Temple had drawn in its forces twenty or thirty years ago. Its branch temples had gone almost as long without anyone looking after them, leaving their ownership unclear. Some had been taken over by the government as public property and protected as historic sites.
Others had been occupied by private individuals for twenty or thirty years. Nearly a generation had passed. How could getting them back be as easy as opening one's mouth?
The publicly owned properties were easier to handle. Great Chu placed great weight on property rights; as long as Tang Changsheng could produce the deeds, the matter could be settled.
The privately occupied properties, however, were another matter.
