The Bear Demon was scared out of his wits and desperately tried to flee. But the heat and raging flames were everywhere, leaving him nowhere to escape. Soon his fur caught fire, and he learned how it felt to be burned to the very heart.

Panicking, the Bear Demon flailed both paws before him, stirring up gusts of foul wind to snuff out the flames. But wind fed the fire, and fire lent the wind force. Far from putting the flames out, he only made them surge higher.

That frightened the Bear Demon even more. He lashed out with his paws in a fury, and the fire grew fiercer still.

Meanwhile, Tang Changsheng sat cross-legged in visualization, struggling to keep the Bear Demon suppressed. The flame of the Primordial Yang Divine Lamp flickered wildly, as though it might go out at any moment.

This won't work! Tang Changsheng sighed inwardly. My cultivation is far below the Bear Demon's. He may be dim-witted, but I still can't hold him down!

His thoughts shifted. He drew on a trace of Moonlight Power within his body and brought it into his visualization.

Trapped in a sea of fire, the Bear Demon went berserk. His paws struck out at random, whipping up winds that drove the flames higher and left him thoroughly scorched.

Once a Beast lost his temper, though, he cared for nothing else. He kept thrashing his paws, as if he could beat the fire down by sheer force.

Suddenly, he caught a glimpse of a pool ahead and was overjoyed. He stopped swiping at the flames and scrambled toward it, half running, half lunging.

The moment he saw a way out, his desperate resolve faltered. He charged on without a thought for the flames burning him and leaped into the pool.
