At the edge of the Netherworld, where darkness held sway, glimmers of light slowly rose, ominous as blood.
Under that blood-red glow, more than a thousand troops stretched their formation and advanced at an angle.
It was a bluff, pure and simple: spread the battle line to look more numerous and pressure the enemy.

As Tang Changsheng turned his gaze upon them, pressure heavy as a mountain bore down on the Ghost Soldiers. All of them grew restless, especially the cavalry mounts, which snorted uneasily and breathed black vapor.
Where did such an elite Ghost Army come from? They don't quite look like they're from the Central Land...
Tang Changsheng found it strange. He could not tell where these Ghost Soldiers had come from. They looked somewhat like troops from the Central Land, but the details were strikingly different, with something of a southern style.
