Tang Changsheng said a few words to the barbarians. Whether they understood him or not, they started steering their boats away.
Tang Changsheng had no choice but to land on one of the fishing boats.
Calling it a fishing boat was generous. It was nothing more than the simplest kind of dugout canoe, hollowed from a single log. Even so, the workmanship was exceedingly crude.
It could carry one person well enough, but any more than that and it would probably capsize at once.
When Tang Changsheng landed on it, the barbarian fisherman cried out in fright and prepared for the boat to overturn. Yet the boat did not shift in the slightest. It was as though a leaf had fallen onto it, not a full-grown man.
"Take me to your Tribal Stockade!" Tang Changsheng commanded, channeling Dharma Power into his voice and sending the words straight into the barbarians' minds.
Sure enough, the barbarians quieted down at once. They turned around and took Tang Changsheng toward their settlement.
As Tang Changsheng had expected, it was not far away. Such a ramshackle boat could hardly travel any great distance.
Only a few miles away, in a valley, cattle and sheep roamed across fertile land, and large stretches of wilderness had even been cleared for farming. The crops, though... left much to be desired!
Nor was this place some paradise hidden from the world. A simple stockade wall had been built around it, and warriors carrying rudimentary Qing bronze and iron weapons patrolled nearby.
When they saw the fishermen approaching with Tang Changsheng from afar, the warriors tensed at once. They leveled their Long Spears and blocked his path.
Tang Changsheng stood with his hands behind his back. *This settlement looks sizable. There must be a thousand people here, at least.
