The Scattered Characters varied wildly in quality. Some contained insights into power, some held nothing but convoluted information, and some conveyed things beyond words. Yet each time Tang Changsheng deciphered one, his Dao Heart grew a little more intricate and complete.
He had experienced two worlds while in the Dao-Building Realm, so his Dao Heart had already been far stronger than most people's. Now, as he deciphered the Scattered Characters, it grew more complex and refined still.
All told, though, these Scattered Characters helped Tang Changsheng less than the Iron Lotus Seed had.
Cracks sounded one after another. Once Tang Changsheng understood the Jade Tokens, they shattered.
Tang Changsheng shook his head, took out the Dragon-script Tortoise Shell, and began studying it.
If anyone had peeked in from outside, they would have seen two black holes appear in Tang Changsheng's eyes, swirling like whirlpools.
The patterns on the Dragon-script Tortoise Shell seemed to be drawn toward those black holes. They lifted off the shell and, in the blink of an eye, vanished into his eyes.
Soon, the tortoise shell that everyone on Phoenix Cry Mountain had coveted so fiercely became a blank slate before Tang Changsheng. Then it trembled lightly and crumbled into ash across the floor.
Tang Changsheng once again sank into a mysterious state of enlightenment, much like when he had seen through the Iron Lotus Seed.
Between his Spirit Terrace and Sea of Consciousness, his Dharma Power rose and fell, boundless as the sea. Waves were born and died without end.
Tang Changsheng had no idea when he came to, but he found that his Dharma Power had silently grown stronger again.
He could faintly see that his Spirit Terrace had become more condensed and stable. Its light, once only a semicircle, was now nearly seven-tenths complete.
