At that moment, even Tang Changsheng changed tactics. Casting all other concerns aside, he sent a pinpoint of light darting like a spark into the Sea of Consciousness of the Sea Beast ramming the ship from below.
Though the creature was brimming with Blood Essence and possessed boundless strength, its Sea of Consciousness was rudimentary in the extreme.
"So it really is a Sea Beast. It doesn't even qualify as a monster..."
One glance at that crude Sea of Consciousness was enough. Tang Changsheng said no more and set it ablaze.
Fire spread through the Sea Beast's Sea of Consciousness, startling it so badly that it forgot all about the ship and dove desperately into the depths.
But after descending only five or six hundred meters, its whole body shuddered, and a mass of flame burst from its eyes. The flames burned on for more than half a quarter of an hour, heedless of the seawater around them, before finally dying out.
The fishlike Sea Beast floated motionless in the water, as if asleep.
"These Sea Beasts may be immensely strong, but their Seas of Consciousness are far too crude. Enemies with such a glaring weakness aren't hard to deal with."
He had barely formed the thought when his consciousness was suddenly drawn into a hall. There stood a deity with a human head and a dragon's body, holding himself proudly within a faint halo of white light.
“True Self is the Protector Deity aboard this ship. These Sea Beasts are running rampant and attacking a vessel of my divine palace. Mage, please lend me your aid!”
Tang Changsheng found it strange. This Protector Deity was plainly of the sea folk, but he possessed only white Divine Power. Why, then, had he released red Divine Light earlier?
