The dead giants came back to life as time ran backward. The dead who had poured out of the realm of death like a tide retreated into it step by step. The toppled World Tree Yggdrasil righted itself. With each bite the Black Dragon Nidhogg took from its massive roots, the roots grew more whole. The blood-soaked world became a land of clear waters and green mountains, while humans laid down their weapons and went about their lives in eerie motions that were the exact opposite of normal.
The gods who had looked down upon all living things retreated frame by frame into the Golden Palace like puppets. One event after another unwound through time.
On Blue Star, humanity passed through winter, autumn, summer, and spring again and again. The old grew young, the young became children, and children returned to their mothers' wombs as fertilized eggs. Then their mothers underwent the same process.
Buildings vanished as time ran backward. Historical figures long dead took the stage, shone for a moment, then faded away. Nations fell and were founded anew. The Indians who had once been wiped out appeared on the lands of the Americas, only to disappear again.
But as time reversed across the Nine Worlds, nine Bronze Cauldrons appeared one by one over the East Asian Continent. Together they wove a vast Barrier around all of Huaxia. The onrushing flood of reversed time struck the Barrier formed by the Bronze Cauldrons in a soundless collision.
The surging torrent of time crashed against the Barrier of the Nine Cauldrons, their forces washing over one another. Ages of time spread across its surface but could not seep through at all.
