Meanwhile, the Chromatic Dragon Queen stopped trying to outlast the God of Agriculture in a contest of Divine Power.

She had assumed that a New God, however high his Divine Rank, could not have accumulated much Divine Power. But this New God had far more than she had expected.

The Chromatic Dragon Queen spread her wings and summoned her kingdom down. Caverns immediately swallowed Khalikan's magnificent buildings.

Then Portals opened to planes and regions far and wide, and tens of thousands of Dragons appeared in Khalikan.

Dragons stood at the pinnacle of the Multiverse. To them, gods were merely somewhat stronger beings, hardly figures worthy of devout Faith.

Most of the Chromatic Dragon Queen's Believers were evil dragons like the chromatic dragons. Such creatures would never devoutly worship a god who might covet their treasure, much less entrust their souls to the Dragon Queen.

To Dragons, death was a distant prospect. If they wished, they could transform themselves into more unusual kinds of Dragons and gain Immortality.
