As Asterina was about to fly back to the castle, a Black Dragon several sizes smaller than her caught her in his claws. Then the Chromatic Dragon Queen descended.
Khalikan was a city ruled by Dragons, renowned throughout the Main Plane for its enormous buildings and its simple, rugged yet magnificent architecture. Its area ranked among the largest on the continent.
Yet when the Chromatic Dragon Queen descended, the entire city fell beneath her shadow.
Day turned to night.
A Dragon countless times larger than Black Dragon Bamas appeared above Khalikan. Her outstretched wings covered the entire Forbidden Mountains and parts of several nearby kingdoms. Her powerful claws radiated a piercing chill; one glance at them left people with the terrifying sense that they would be torn apart. Her five heads, each bearing the features of a different kind of Dragon, wore savage expressions that sent a chill through every heart.
"The Chromatic Dragon Queen!"
At the sight of the Dragon blotting out the sky, everyone understood.
Those quick enough to react immediately cast teleportation spells, hoping to escape.
A God's Divine Descent onto the Main Plane could only mean that another God, or a being equally powerful, was stirring up trouble here.
And just moments ago, that Black Dragon had thrashed Golden Queen Asterina in a way that defied everything they knew...
The next instant, the faces of those trying to teleport changed. The Chromatic Dragon Queen's descent had warped the Rules of the area to their limits. Every teleportation spell failed.
"Die."
The Chromatic Dragon Queen's five heads opened their mouths at once, and golden light began to gather.
Just then, Jiang Hao, who had been browsing the merchandise all this time, finally found something he liked. Holding a stone, he began rewriting the Rules.
