On the New Continent, the enormous Scientific Research Station stood on black earth. The futuristic complex looked like a spaceship that had landed and shut down.
But the Scientific Research Station was nowhere near as lively as usual. It was like a venomous snake lurking in the shadows, so quiet it was almost frightening.
"We're nearly there." Cornelius watched the station draw closer, his expression grave. "According to our intelligence, the Scientific Research Station has fallen completely. "Uh, the various countries invested resources worth hundreds of billions of U.S. Dollars to build this station. In fact, one reason they chose to drive the Evil God from the New Continent was the hope that protecting those investments would help their stock markets recover..."
Cornelius grew a little embarrassed as he spoke. It was hard not to feel awkward about world leaders making this operation more difficult just to boost their stock markets.
He looked at the station drawing closer and quickly changed the subject. "We're here."
