The Savior was the name of the spacecraft, a name that spoke of saving Blue Star.
After sending a message to mission control at the launch center, astronaut Atlantis cut the connection. He pulled a pocket watch from his coat and opened it, revealing a photograph inside. "I hope God blesses us with a safe return."
"Is that your wife?" Toshifumi Ooka asked curiously.
"No, she's my girlfriend. But we agreed to get married in a church when I get back." Atlantis stroked the photograph, his face bright with happiness.
"Wow. Then I'll definitely come celebrate with you," Peng Wanli said with a laugh.
"Does that mean you'll come to my wedding?" Atlantis asked.
"Exactly." Peng Wanli nodded.
"You're more than welcome. You have to come."
"I'm coming too."
Toshifumi Ooka joined in.
For a while, the spacecraft was filled with laughter.
On this journey, they carried the hopes of all humanity. Even though they were elite astronauts chosen by their countries, trained to stay calm under pressure, the invisible weight on their shoulders still made it hard to breathe.
But staying wound tight throughout a long voyage through space was dangerous for any astronaut. Moments like this helped them ease the strain.
The laughter gradually faded. Gazing out at the universe, Toshifumi Ooka said with a touch of awe, "It's so beautiful. I've seen it before, but every time I look, I'm struck by how beautiful and captivating it is. I wonder when humanity will conquer a universe like this."
"Not in our lifetimes, I'd guess," Peng Wanli said calmly. The moon was only one step on the long road to conquering the universe, and humanity had yet to conquer even that. Conquering the universe was still beyond imagining.
"I hope I
