Chen Shu first visited his teacher Shi Qian. They discussed how the improved Thunder Magic worked in practice, and Chen Shu got a free lunch while he was there. That afternoon, he visited Professor Shi at the History Building, spent some time studying artifacts from the Duqin Cube with the team, and helped himself to some of their research findings.
Both teachers clearly knew, or could guess, something of what had happened. They were relieved to see him safe.

Chen Shu did not skip class. Even though the first class that morning was Moral Cultivation, he got up early and went like a dutiful student.

Ning Qing would not skip class either.
