From high above, the land looked vast and flat.
Chen Shu drove Rising with the Wind at full power, and his speed soon passed seven or eight hundred kilometers per hour. That was already as fast as many passenger planes.
The wind howled past his ears.
But he did not dare fly too high.
At the very least, he could not fly above the clouds.
Jade Capital was almost surrounded by Forbidden Lands. To travel from Jade Capital to Spirit Prefecture, he had to pass along the edge of one. If the clouds blocked his view and he accidentally flew inside, he would have no end of trouble.
There was plenty to see below the clouds, too.
With every stretch he flew, the mountains, rivers, and land he crossed spread out plainly before him. At every turn, he felt not only inertia tug at his body but also the earth wheeling below.
Now and then he encountered formations of wild geese, graceful flocks of egrets, circling mountain hawks, or other birds. In a blink he caught up to them; in another, they had crossed paths, and he had left them behind.
"Woohoo..."
Chen Shu could not help imitating Zhang Suannai.
Gradually, he flew beyond Jade Capital's bounds.
The way ahead was clear.
Boom!
A powerful burst of spiritual repulsive force sent his body into a steep climb. He traced a sharply rising curve through the air and shot diagonally into the clouds. Air split against his pointed flight shield and churned behind him. As he burst up through the cloud layer, he was like a fish leaping from the sea.
Rising with the Wind's explosive power and agility were on full display, making it exhilarating to fly.
Every acceleration, deceleration, and turn was a thrill.
The drawback was the noise.
