Chen Shu sat at a makeshift desk with a computer before him. A vast, intricate spell structure filled the screen as he scratched his head and brooded over it.
If only I'd brought Peach along. Then he could hold Peach in his arms while studying spells and give Peach a stroke whenever frustration struck. It would sharpen his thinking and soothe his nerves... Qingqing hadn't brought Peach either. At least he still ranked second in Peach's affections, ahead of Xiaoxiao.
"I miscalculated."
Chen Shu shook his head and went back to staring at the Screen.
The Screen's glow reflected in his eyes, its spell structure mirrored there.
The Reverse Rune Principle Chen Shu planned to use in the Tracer Technique had been inspired by the Great Blazing Sun Art, but it had little to do with the art itself.
The Great Blazing Sun Art dealt in extreme heat and Blazing Sun True Flame; the Tracer Technique dealt in explosions. The two were worlds apart. And with his current abilities, Chen Shu couldn't extract a major rune module from the Great Blazing Sun Art that would function independently, much less graft its properties onto another spell. Studying its structure had merely sparked the idea. He had then developed it himself and proved it could work.
There was no fixed pattern to the Reverse Rune Principle. Every viable combination of Reverse Runes was unique. Once he completed this set, it would be a new set of his own.
It should be markedly more powerful than the old Tracer Technique, with a much fiercer explosion.
The Spirit Power requirements, however, would be far higher.
Chen Shu was only halfway through the spell, but experience already told him that this rune set, built on the Reverse Rune Principle, would demand exceptionally high-quality Spirit Power.
