Even when the Limitless Ones stepped out of the shadows and became active, even amid the Chaos Cataclysm,
the strength and standing of Chaos Ones remained beyond question.
Their losses were high only compared with the endless ages after Pangu Opens Primordial Chaos, when perhaps not even one or two Chaos Ones would die. It was high only by comparison.
In the Chaos Cataclysm, the Supreme Ones naturally suffered the heaviest losses.
Take the Twelve Yuxu Immortals. In earlier Chaos Cataclysms, the members who had yet to reach the Chaos realm had sometimes been wiped out to the last one.
Chaos Ones still stood high above all, ruling Chaos. But once Supreme Ones were caught in a Chaos Cataclysm, they were truly in a world of pain.
Then again, even if they died, they could simply be resurrected afterward. It was not such a big deal.
Of course, death was no great matter for Supreme Ones backed by Chaos Ones, or those born into Limitless Dao Lineages.
After all, the Great Powers shared an unspoken understanding. If disciples or followers died in a Chaos Cataclysm, other Great Powers generally would not obstruct their resurrection.
But for an unaffiliated Rogue Cultivator who had no background and no one to rely on, getting swept into a Chaos Cataclysm was a stroke of truly rotten luck.
If you died, you died. No one would care. Whether you could return by your own power someday was your problem.
If the Shrouding the Heavens World had not been influenced by the Origin Ancestor's unusual presence and had instead developed on its own,
then any Immortal Emperor from that world who entered the Chaos Sea would have been an unaffiliated Supreme One with no one to rely on.
Unless they chose to join some faction.
