Selina's eyelashes fluttered, and her fingers curled slightly.
Wait a little longer.
His position isn't quite right yet. His elbow is too shallow for the Grappling Hook to catch.
A little lower. Wait until he puts down the Coke.
She glanced at the cup in Yongye's hand.
It still rested steadily in his palm.
Selina's mouth twitched, and she retracted her Grappling Hook for the third time.
She shifted her full weight onto him, wrapped both arms around his neck, and pressed herself against his chest. Burying her face in the crook of his neck, she murmured softly, "Mr. President, there's something about the way you smell."
"What do I smell like?"
"Like you make people want to commit crimes."
Yongye glanced down at her and set the Coke on the coffee table.
Selina's pupils contracted. For the fourth time, the Grappling Hook sprang from her right palm, its metal edge flashing in the dim light.
Her right elbow was high enough to strike. All she had to do was drive it down onto the spot above his collarbone while the Grappling Hook in her left hand caught his wrist—
But just as her elbow began to drop, Yongye turned his head and met her eyes.
There was no alarm or caution in those black eyes. Only a calm amusement that sent a chill down her spine.
"Are you ready?"
Selina's breath caught.
Her right elbow hung in midair. The metal edge of her Grappling Hook was less than two inches from his wrist, yet something seemed to have stopped her cold. She couldn't bring her elbow down.
Those eyes watched her.
Calmly, with something she had never seen in any man's gaze.
As though he had known all along that she would strike at this moment and didn't care.
