The last ship carrying captured Psychic Power entered port. Hades stepped forward and, as usual, used the Null Field to purge any lingering Psychic Power.

With the Adeptus Mechanicus's help, the escort ships had been converted into Psychic-catching vessels. Using modification plans stored in the Athena Academy, the Blackstone Psychic-side Magos reversed the Geller Field, turning a field once used to isolate Psychic Power into one with high affinity for it.

The ships' crews and core sections were woven from Blackstone filaments and protected by containment cages blessed by the Underking.

To be safe, every ship also housed at least two Soulless.

There had been a few minor incidents. Some crew members had been unable to withstand Psychic contamination and suffered convulsions, but the Cult of the Underworld's exorcisms and timely return voyages had prevented small mistakes from becoming disasters.

Hades looked toward the ship beside him. Psychic ripples swayed beneath its deck.

This vessel had arrived nearly five full hours later than scheduled, but from the Null Field's perspective, everything was intact.

He remained alert for a moment. Then the hatch opened, and the instant Hades saw the Ogryn, the vigilance in his heart vanished.

"Boss Black, I feel sick."

The Soulless Ogryn, lacking a soul, muttered this before immediately bending over against the hull and vomiting. He ignored Hades's attempts to comfort him. The somewhat disheveled Tech-priests and Soulless who emerged afterward saluted Hades.

"You've worked hard."

Hades's mouth twitched. He could tell that working with an Ogryn was an exceptionally torturous ordeal. It had not been easy for them.
