|---|---|---|
| Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor; human form | 23 | Her former cultivation and transformation are revealed when Tang Hao explains her identity to Tang San. |
| Post-sacrifice remnant | 1 12 23 | Her sacrifice leaves a seed that grows into a slender Blue Silver Grass stalk with only a faint trace of life. |

Background / History
Ah Yin was a Hundred-Thousand-Year Blue Silver Emperor who assumed human form, married Tang Hao, and became Tang San’s mother. Spirit Hall hunted her for the value of her Soul Ring and Soul Bone. She sacrificed herself to save Tang Hao and their newborn son, leaving behind a remnant capable of growing again 23.
Six years after the battle, a modern consciousness awakens in Tang Hao’s body and discovers her barely living Blue Silver Grass in a hidden Soul Tool. The original Tang Hao’s grief remains embedded in the body, but its new occupant decides to pursue her revival without adopting his predecessor’s life of despair 1 21.
Appearance
- Plant form: A slender stalk of Blue Silver Grass with only a few leaves during her early recovery 1 12.
- Coloration: Blue-gold leaves and patterns that flicker when Tang Hao supplies Soul Power 11.
- Roots: Develop a faint blue-gold glow while absorbing the valley’s energy 12.
- New growth: Her first documented new leaf is tiny, paler than the older leaves, and radiates a distinct aura of life 14.
Personality
Ah Yin expresses affection through physical contact and faint emotional impressions rather than speech. She repeatedly curls her leaves around Tang Hao’s finger, conveying warmth, joy, and attachment. Her consciousness is initially faint, and Tang Hao understands these responses as recognition of her husband’s familiar presence—not recognition of the outsider occupying his body 4 6 11.
As her vitality improves, she shows more selective responses: she leans toward Tang Hao but recoils from Dugu Bo. This suggests awareness and wariness, although Tang Hao does not confirm whether she understands their conversation 14.
Abilities & Skills
Energy Absorption and Regrowth
- Absorbs Soul Power supplied by Tang Hao through the soil or direct contact 4 12.
- Draws in the surrounding energy of heaven and earth, with substantially better results near the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well 11 12.
- Requires a balanced planting site: excessive proximity to either spring risks burning or freezing her 11.
- Cannot immediately restore her human form; regrowth after sacrifice still requires considerable time 12.
Nonverbal Communication
- Uses leaf movements and contact to express attachment or reluctance to part 11 12.
- Transmits faint feelings of affection and joy to Tang Hao 4 11.
- Shows apparent distrust by withdrawing from Dugu Bo 14.
Response from Blue Silver Grass
- When she begins absorbing energy in the valley, ordinary Blue Silver Grass nearby leans toward her as though answering a call 11.
- The response helps reveal that she is no ordinary plant, but no combat application is demonstrated 11.
Guidance toward Energy Balance
- During Dugu Bo’s poison crisis, she creates a barely visible trail of blue-gold motes toward the springs 16.
- A root beneath a stone points toward a rock where heat and cold briefly balance; Dugu Yan uncovers it for Tang Hao 16.
- Her guidance helps stabilize Dugu Bo’s poison and enables Tang Hao to loosen the Angel Soul Power near his heart. She identifies the safe point rather than directly healing him 16.
Story Role / Major Arcs
Relocation and Recovery
- Tang Hao carries her away from Holy Soul Village, temporarily replants her at an inn, and later settles her in a rented Heaven Dou City courtyard 3 4 6.
- While seeking Dugu Bo, he protects the courtyard with spiritual power and pays the landlord to water her daily 7.
- He negotiates permission to plant her in Dugu Bo’s garden while concealing her identity as a Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beast, fearing that disclosure would provoke greed 9.
- He transplants her with her original soil more than twenty meters from the springs, choosing ground with relatively balanced heat and cold 11.
The Poison Crisis and Its Aftermath
- Her guidance supplies the crucial balanced location during Tang Hao and Dugu Bo’s emergency treatment 16.
- After recovering from his own ordeal in the springs, Tang Hao entrusts her safety to Dugu Bo before leaving to visit Tang San 21.
- Tang Hao tells Tang San about her identity, sacrifice, and possible revival, promising to take him to see her after urgent matters are settled 23.
- Her marriage becomes a point of contention when Tang Hao proposes a political marriage to Bibi Dong. Bibi Dong cites his willingness to betray Ah Yin as evidence that marriage cannot guarantee loyalty; Ah Yin’s own reaction is not shown 25.
Relationships
- Original Tang Hao — Husband. She sacrificed herself to protect him and their newborn son; her surviving plant responds affectionately to his familiar presence 4 23.
- Current Tang Hao — Caretaker and prospective reviver. He protects her and promises an honest conversation once she recovers, while recognizing that her affection belongs to his predecessor 4 6.
- Tang San — Son. He learns her true identity at age six and asks to see her. Tang Hao identifies his maternal Martial Soul inheritance as the Blue Silver Emperor 23 25.
- Dugu Bo — Host and later entrusted guardian. He recognizes her unusual nature but is not told her full identity; she initially recoils from him 11 14 21.
- Dugu Yan — Acts on her guidance during the poison emergency, uncovering the root that points Tang Hao toward the balanced rock 16.
