As soon as the oaths were complete, the Ice Empress began her Sacrifice without hesitation, and the dark clouds overhead started to disperse.

As the third bolt of Four-Colored Tribulation Lightning fell, the Ice Empress's body abruptly broke apart. A terrifying radiance shot skyward, and a red wave of Soul Power spread out.

Elder Song and the others watching from nearby froze.

What was the Ice Empress doing?

A Sacrifice?

Then who was she sacrificing herself to?

At that moment, the Ice Empress's terrifying Origin Power poured mercilessly into Jiang Chen, nearly blinding everyone there.

For a moment, everyone stood stunned.

The Ice Empress had chosen to sacrifice herself to Jiang Chen!

Jiang Chen nodded without hesitation. "All right. Do it."

As soon as he spoke, the Ice Empress's terrifying power coursed through him, forcibly pulling out his fragile human bones one by one.

Crack. Crack...

The pain pierced his soul. Jiang Chen could not speak, and his face twisted in agony.

It hurt!

It hurt too much!

Jiang Chen felt as though he were dancing at death's door, liable to drop dead at any moment.

Several minutes later, all his bones had been replaced. The Ice Empress's Origin Power and soul entered Jiang Chen's Sea of Consciousness.

Once the Sacrifice was complete, Jiang Chen's Soul Power broke straight through to rank thirty-four, rising four ranks in one leap. He also gained a four-hundred-thousand-year Ice Jade Emperor Scorpion Trunk Bone.

The Ice Empress spoke. "I'm quite satisfied with your body now. You might truly reach that level someday."

"Oh, and I've given you four skills in total. Two are Soul Bone Skills, and the other two are Soul Ring Skills. Take your time understanding them. I'm very weak now and need to rest."

With that, the Ice Empress cut off her connection with Jiang Chen and fell asleep in his Sea of Consciousness.

Jiang Chen focused on the skills she had given him.

The trunk bone's skills were Phoenix Domain and Phoenix Cry Soaring Sky.

But what delighted Jiang Chen most were the two Soul Ring Skills.

It was a divine skill against enemies, allowing him to unleash his power to the fullest regardless of his opponent's cultivation.

The second was Phoenix Protection, which granted one second of immunity to physical and mental attacks. It was a divine defensive skill in its own right.

After learning what his skills did, Jiang Chen smiled.

As for the skills, I can't reveal those just yet. You'll find out in time."

This was an opportunity sent straight from heaven.

Ma Xiaotao huffed inwardly. "Would you have found such an incredible opportunity without me? And you still act like you don't care. You'll regret it someday."

Jiang Chen sighed to himself.

Please don't say I have the potential to become a Limit Douluo. That's far too much pressure.

He said, "Elder Song, we should head back."

Elder Song gathered her thoughts and nodded.

After a brief rest, Shrek's Soul Hunting team set off back to Shrek Academy.

The mission had been completed perfectly. In fact, they had achieved far more than they had set out to do.

Jiang Chen had unexpectedly received the Ice Jade Scorpion Emperor's Sacrifice and obtained a Hundred Thousand Year Soul Ring at his age. In that respect, he had surpassed even the Tang Sect ancestor of old.

Elder Song prepared to tell Mu En the news and give him something to smile about in his later years.

Now, even Ma Xiaotao would be reaching above her station if she pursued Jiang Chen.

Jiang Chen was the first human since the Tang Sect ancestor to receive a Ferocious Beast's Sacrifice.

It was good news—a momentous occasion for Shrek.

The bad news was that Jiang Chen had nothing to do with him anymore. He would enjoy none of the benefits to come.

Yan Shaozhe sighed deeply. "Xiaotao, I never expected Jiang Chen to receive an opportunity like this. It must be fate. But that isn't what concerns me most. Where do things stand between you and Jiang Chen now?"
