"Hey!"
"Mo An, what's wrong?"
"Why did you suddenly go all dazed? Don't scare me! I didn't do anything!"
Xiong Feng had been explaining the benefits of joining a major power when Mo An's eyes suddenly went blank. He stared ahead without saying a word. After calling to him several times without getting a response, Xiong Feng reached out and gave him a shove to see if he was dead.
"What are you doing?"
Mo An looked at Xiong Feng in confusion, wondering why he was pushing him.
"You suddenly spaced out. No matter how I called you, you didn't answer, so I pushed you a few times."
Xiong Feng, who had just lost to Mo An, retreated several steps under his gaze and hurried to explain himself.
"Oh, I see. I was thinking about something else and didn't hear you. Sorry about that."
Mo An thought back to his behavior and realized he really had seemed out of sorts. He apologized to the frightened Xiong Feng.
"It's fine." Seeing Mo An back to normal and even apologizing, Xiong Feng waved it off and returned to their earlier conversation. "So accept my father's offer."
"Let's discuss that another day. I just remembered something important I need to do. Goodbye, and I hope you get the First Soul Ring you want."
Mo An politely declined Xiong Feng's offer on his father's behalf. After wishing him well, he quickly left.
After dinner, Mo An returned to his lodgings, took out the books he had borrowed from the library, and began reading carefully.
The next morning, after class, Mo An left North Sea Junior Soul Master Academy and returned to Azure Bamboo Pharmacy to tell Uncle Fu his plans. Uncle Fu was his only family in this world and had a right to know.
"Young master, are you sure you want to do this?"
Hearing that the young master wanted to join the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and grow with its support, Uncle Fu, who had been away from the Soul Master world for six years, thought for a long while before asking if he had truly made up his mind.
"Yes. I've gone over it three times. This is the best option right now. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect looks like it's flourishing, but in truth, its younger generation has no one ready to shoulder the burden. If I join, they'll see me as someone who can carry their future. They'll do everything they can to nurture me and help me grow quickly."
"When I become a Titled Douluo and seek revenge on the Clear Sky Sect and Spirit Hall, they might even stand with me and help us."
After outlining his plan, Mo An placed the information he had gathered on the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect before Uncle Fu for him to read.
Uncle Fu picked up the documents and read them carefully. He found that this really was the best plan. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect was an excellent choice.
"If you think it'll work, young master, then let's do it."
After reading about the sect, considering the young master's talent, and then thinking about their present circumstances, Uncle Fu fully understood his reasoning.
He had to admit it was a good plan. His words meant he had no objection.
Seeing that Uncle Fu agreed, Mo An quickly changed the subject and said he wanted to eat Uncle Fu's cooking.
After lunch and after sharing some amusing experiences from North Sea Junior Soul Master Academy with Uncle Fu, Mo An left Azure Bamboo Pharmacy and headed for the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect's foothold in North Sea City.
Because the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect had long maintained a close, friendly relationship with the Heaven Dou Imperial Family, its trading companies had spread throughout the Heaven Dou Empire. They could be found in any of its cities. These companies gathered intelligence, recruited talent, and earned vast wealth for the sect, forming a vital foundation for its continued prosperity.
Standing before the Seven Treasure Trading Company, Mo An carefully recalled what he knew about the sect's trading companies, then strode inside.
The Seven Treasure Trading Company had three floors, serving commoners, nobles, and Soul Masters respectively. It was renowned throughout North Sea City for its wide selection, fair prices, and excellent quality.
Mo An entered and headed straight for the third floor.
Unless something unusual had happened, Shopkeeper Ning would be there most of the time.
Shopkeeper Ning was a direct-line disciple of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and a member of Ning Fengzhi's clan. If Mo An wanted to contact Ning Fengzhi from North Sea City, Shopkeeper Ning was unquestionably his best choice.
By showing the Copper Essence, Ice-Pattern Snow Lotus, and three other treasures valuable to Soul Masters that he had previously picked up for a bargain, and by firmly requesting a meeting, he succeeded in securing a chance to see Shopkeeper Ning.
Seated in a lavishly furnished room on the third floor, Mo An surveyed the luxurious reception room while he waited. The Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect really is rich. Even a reception room in one of its trading companies is this grand.
Before long, a portly middle-aged man entered with a smile. "You must be young friend Mo An. I'm Ning Haitian, the manager of the Seven Treasure Trading Company in North Sea City. I heard you wanted to see me. What can I do for you?"
If Mo An had only wanted to sell goods, it would have been much easier to sell them to the staff. There was no need to insist on seeing him by name.
Ning Haitian therefore concluded that Mo An had something to say to him in person. Inclined to treat others kindly, he had decided to meet the boy and hear him out.
He had voiced his suspicion straightaway because he had no desire to exchange pleasantries with a child. That would have been far too strange.
"I've heard the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect has long recruited talented Soul Masters from outside the clan and treats them well. The story of your sect and the Sword-Bone Douluo is famous across the Douluo Continent. I want to join the sect too, and become someone like them."
Since Ning Haitian had asked directly why he had come, Mo An, who had no interest in beating around the bush, stated his purpose just as plainly.
Ning Haitian was briefly taken aback. Then he looked Mo An over, noting his age and clothing, and decided the request made perfect sense.
The boy was young and plainly dressed. He was probably from a common family in North Sea City, talented but lacking connections and resources. After hearing the story of the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect and the Sword-Bone Douluo, he wanted Ning Haitian to introduce him to the sect.
If so, the boy was likely quite talented. Ning Haitian would also receive a handsome reward for recommending a promising young talent to the sect.
Satisfied that he had pieced everything together, Ning Haitian lifted the teacup beside him and asked with a smile:
"Oh? So you want to join our Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, young friend Mo An. What are your Martial Soul and Innate Soul Power?"
"Ink Bamboo Martial Soul. Innate Full Soul Power."
