Jahadorei studied the woman before her with some curiosity. Though Lu Qi Zhen had not introduced herself yet, Jahadorei could already make out certain details—in the midst of all the women on the farm, Lu Qi Zhen's style stood apart. She always wore cotton and linen clothes: beige, dark green, grayish blue... There was almost nothing dazzling about her combinations, yet Jahadorei could clearly sense that behind this seemingly "gentle and ordinary" style lay wealth and family circumstances beyond anything she could imagine.
Her gaze fell on Lu Qi Zhen's flat leather shoes. Just like Chloe and Xina's shoes that morning, the toes bore similarly styled patterns... Jahadorei could hardly connect the woman before her with the person who had cried and screamed madly on that blazing night.
"Hello," Jahadorei answered cautiously. Though she had already sensed the gap between them, she did not want to let it show.
"I've been trying to lose fat lately too..." Lu Qi Zhen stopped at the other end of the swing. "May I sit here?"
"Of course, please." Jahadorei turned her head. "I don't think I saw you during the day?"
"I told them I was on my period, so they let me off," Lu Qi Zhen sighed. "But I probably can't avoid it for long. They seem determined to herd everyone into the gym or onto the field..."
Jahadorei could not help laughing—this was the first thing she had heard since arriving here that aligned with her own position. "...Why do you need to lose fat? You already look so thin—"
"Don't call me that," Lu Qi Zhen sighed. "I might be getting married, so... I'll need to wear a wedding dress. You know."
Jahadorei narrowed her eyes, looking somewhat confused. "What do you mean, might? Are you getting married, or not?"
