While the children were singing, someone quietly entered the auditorium through a side door and whispered a few words into Hesta's ear. Hesta looked up in surprise, then said softly, "Send one of ours over to bring him here—oh, not anyone else. Have Officer Silei make the trip."
Hearing this, Simoya looked curiously at Hesta. "Who's coming?"
"Boheng," Hesta said quietly. "He said he entered the farm and was detained as a suspicious person by Klar's people."
"What was he doing coming here at this hour?"
"I don't know," Hesta replied. "We'll ask when he gets here."
Simoya frowned with concern, then told Hesta about how she and Zoe had run into Boheng on the streets of Emangria—his manner had been stiff and cold then, nothing like the friendliness he had shown back in the mountains.
"Zoe said he must have been following someone," Simoya said. "But I don't think that's the important part."
"Alright, I understand," Hesta answered softly.
There was nothing inherently strange about Boheng visiting the farm, but coming at night was somewhat odd. Hesta guessed that his attitude toward Simoya and Zoe might have had something to do with the demand she had made when they last parted ways. Still, if he had come knocking again, it meant he still wanted to discuss terms.
