Chapter 1253: The Room
Simoya's breath caught again. No matter what, she had never expected Silei and Klar to come up with such a solution: claiming that they existed in a different slice of time from everyone else!
That gave them an identity that was both present and absent, and it sounded so reasonable...
Simoya pondered for a moment, then wrote, "Then I suggest we don't wait until dawn to meet up. Let's meet once at midnight first.
"Here's what I'm thinking. The dinner ends at nine. Zoe and I will immediately head to Madam Bronbo's room and wait outside. If we're lucky, we'll get to speak with her right away. If not, and we run into people lining up to see her like last time, we'll wait there too—but if three hours pass and the person inside still hasn't come out, we won't keep waiting. The four of us will meet again, exchange information, and decide how to spend the rest of the night."
"That works. It's a good idea," Zoe wrote. "If the visitor in Madam Bronbo's room never comes out, at least we won't be waiting outside like fools all night. I suggest we go to the tower on the top floor of the castle around midnight. It's quiet there, and convenient for talking."
Silei and Klar each sent an OK gesture emoji.
"That's amazing! How did you come up with such a brilliant idea?" Simoya typed rapidly. "Being police officers naturally gives you a righteous stance, while being from the future eases conflicts of interest with every side. This is also a 'crowbar,' isn't it?"
"Yeah. Watching how everyone reacts to the police can sometimes reveal extra information," Silei wrote. "The inspiration came from you. Didn't you make up an identity on the spot last week?
