"She had sponsored a lot of students in Orange Town—female students especially—and she was particularly generous whenever student clubs came around looking for outside sponsorship," Yu Xuekun explained as she chewed. "She had also funded quite a few girls' educations. The Hope Center you go to so often now was one of her regular donation recipients. I don't remember the exact amount, but it definitely wasn't small."

"...Was she some kind of conference representative for promoting children's welfare too?"

"Last year and the year before, City Hall wanted to award her a 'Pioneer and Role Model' medal. She turned them down both times."

Hesta looked up. "Why?"

"There were some rumors, but she never responded to them," Yu Xuekun replied. "Apparently, she just wasn't interested in that sort of thing."

"She was pretty indifferent to fame and fortune," Hesta said softly.

"Or maybe she just didn't like being in the spotlight," Yu Xuekun said. "Her previous café was often opened up free of charge for student clubs to hold events. I went a few times myself. She would take part in activities with the students, but she never joined any group photos or interviews... I still don't understand why she asked you to go there at night. Student activities like that were usually held during the day."

Hesta picked up her bowl, drained the remaining half bowl of soy milk in one gulp, then wiped her mouth with a napkin. "That meant she knew I wasn't a student."

"...How would she know that?" Yu Xuekun frowned. "And whether you were a student or not didn't have much to do with her."

"Will I lose points this week because I went to see her last night?"

"Probably. As for how many... that depended."
