Ding Yuqing stopped what she was doing and looked at her father in surprise.

"Where's Mom?"

Ding Guisheng glanced at his daughter.

"Your mom's still at the hospital. Your brother can watch over her alone. There's no need for me to be there too."

"She's okay, right?"

"What could be wrong with her? Your mom's ridiculous. At her age, she could still fall while going out to get water. Who knows what she was thinking about all day long. As if there weren't enough things going on at home already... When is your brother-in-law coming back?"

"I heard tomorrow."

"What time tomorrow?"

"In the morning, probably," Ding Yuqing said softly. "He'll probably go straight to the hospital when he gets back."

"Your brother-in-law... Tsk." Ding Guisheng muttered as he deadbolted the door. "I told you two years ago that something was wrong with his attitude. Ding Guisheng chuckled, took off his coat, and hung it on the rack. "Fine. It's not too late."

Ding Yuqing frowned. "If he really cared about the child, he shouldn't have dumped Miaomiao on my pregnant sister at a time like this—"

"I was going over at noon anyway!" Ding Yuqing raised her voice as well. "Anyone can talk big. At least I know that if I care about someone, I spend more time with them—"
