Hesta suddenly rolled over, grabbed Farn's upper arm with one hand, and pinned her to the ground in an instant. Farn's entire face slammed into the grass, leaving a shallow dent. When she lifted her head again, two streams of blood ran from her nose.

Farn groaned in pain. She wiped her face and froze when she saw the blood on her palm. "You were seriously hitting me...?"

Hesta had already lunged at her again. The two quickly grappled together. Though every blow landed solidly, neither made a sound. Only when a patrolling campus guard approached from afar with a suspicious expression did they both stop at once.

"What are you doing?" the guard asked. "You weren't fighting, were you?"

"Of course not..." Farn raised her beaten-up face, desperately searching for an excuse. "We were... um, we were—"

Hesta had already gotten to her feet. She backed away two steps, then suddenly turned and sprinted off, leaving Farn where she stood.
