Hearing Nana's awkward form of address, Lu Yi finally nodded in satisfaction.

The others straightened their backs and followed her lead, calling out in unison.
"Good!"
Lu Yi's gaze swept over each pale face as he silently probed them.
Fortunately, although they looked unwell, the Holy Spirit Cult had not completely brainwashed them. They must have been considered useful; Nana even recognized many of them as students from Sun Moon Academy. Their Seas of Consciousness were still relatively normal.
But a moment later, when Lu Yi's attention settled on one of them, he frowned.
The boy was thin. Compared with the others, "pale" barely described his face. He looked terminally ill, with an aged air despite his youth.
His Soul Power fluctuations were abnormally weak, too weak for him to qualify as a Holy Servant like the others.
Those oddities, together with the way the boy avoided his gaze, naturally drew Lu Yi's attention.
"Hold out your hands."
The boy panicked at Lu Yi's request. "Boss, I..."
"Hold out your hands."
This time, Lu Yi's tone left no room for argument. The boy shuddered and stretched out both hands.
A fresh burn marked the back of his right hand, plainly caused by the Purifying Flame Lu Yi had detonated moments ago.
The others did not know what that meant, but Lu Yi did. Only two kinds of people could be burned by the light carried within Purifying Flame.
Either a person's soul had been tainted later in life by filth and evil, or something similar had been present in their soul from birth.
The former described Evil Soul Masters who strengthened themselves by refining other people's bodies and souls. The latter might be people born with evil Martial Souls.
Lu Yi studied the boy closely. Under his gaze, the
