Du Busi is overbearing toward outsiders but warmly enthusiastic toward promising Body Martial Soul users. He immediately offers Long Aotian a place in the sect and becomes so captivated by Xu Tiance’s talent that he offers him the position of young sect master 13 15.

His devotion to Xu Tiance combines genuine affection with extreme protectiveness. He regards the boy as his chosen successor, indulges his requests, and threatens to destroy the herb valley if Tiance’s body-tempering experiment harms him. After Tiance spends a week submerged in the well, Du Busi openly admits his worry 25 37.

He favors immediate, forceful solutions. His offer to assassinate the emperor and any rival heirs alarms Tiance, while his treasure hunting relies on intimidation and coercion. Earlier Cultivation and Sect Leadership

Du Busi searched the Sunset Forest for the Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well when he was young, but poisonous miasma forced him back. He subsequently developed poison arts to penetrate its defenses, yet remained unable to reach it even after becoming a Titled Douluo 30.

He was already a Level 97 Super Douluo when his elder brother, Du Bisou, fought Mu En. After Du Bisou died from his injuries, Du Busi advanced to Level 98. The Body Sect temporarily withdrew from the world following his brother’s death 15 29.

He also led Body Sect Titled Douluo into the Star Dou Great Forest to hunt multiple Hundred-Thousand-Year Soul Beasts, provoking a Beast Tide 34.

Recruitment in Heaven Dou City

At the Heaven Dou Orphanage, Du Busi recruits Long Aotian after the boy awakens a skin Martial Soul with Level 7 Innate Soul Power. Their departure is interrupted by Ye Yulin and Kong Deming, who seek the Body Sect’s help in developing Xu Tiance’s second Martial Soul 12 13.

Initially hostile to the Sun Moon Empire and Soul Engineers, Du Busi changes his attitude upon learning about Primordial Cells. He repeatedly tries to recruit Tiance, eventually offering immediate appointment as young sect master. Tiance’s imperial ties and loyalty to Kong prevent an exclusive apprenticeship 13 14 15.

Relocation to the Sun Moon Empire

Kong proposes recruitment assistance, exchanges of expertise, trade, and commissions. Tiance goes further, proposing that the entire Body Sect relocate and potentially become the empire’s State Religion. Du Busi leaves to consult the sect, missing Princess Vina’s awakening of Twin Martial Souls 16.

After three sect meetings—two devoted to studying Primordial Cells—Du Busi agrees to relocate on the condition that Tiance become his disciple. He accepts a shared teaching arrangement with Kong and does not require Tiance to join the Body Sect 18 19.

Du Busi chooses Mingdu for the new headquarters so he can teach Tiance conveniently, then moves several hundred disciples and the sect’s accumulated wealth. The abandoned headquarters ruins Wei Tian’ao’s plan to secure a Body Sect alliance through Vina 20 21.

Palace Coup and Imperial Allegiance

During Xu Chengjing’s coup, Du Busi stands watch at Tiance’s request. He intercepts Xu He and his Level 93 shadow guard, kills the guard, and returns the boy to the palace 24 25.

Before the court, Du Busi announces both his apprenticeship with Tiance and the Body Sect’s allegiance to the Sun Moon Empire. He acknowledges that he and the incoming emperor will henceforth deal with one another as ruler and subject 25.

Confrontation with the Holy Spirit Cult

When Ye Xishui and Long Xiaoyao enter the Offering Hall, Du Busi and Kong immediately shield Tiance. Du Busi rejects Ye Xishui’s recruitment attempt and declares that he will become a Limit Douluo himself 27 28.

Ye Xishui counters by exposing his decades-long stagnation. After Tiance refuses her offer, Du Busi and Kong demand that the visitors leave, although the cult’s two Limit Douluo remain a serious strategic threat 29.

Ice and Fire Yin Yang Well Expedition

Du Busi joins Kong, Tiance, and Ye Guyi in returning to the Sunset Forest. Along the journey, declining Soul Beast numbers reinforce his growing belief that the Body Sect must adapt and study Soul Tools 30 31.

At Tiance’s suggestion, he refines the Jade Phosphorus Seven-Absolute Flowers’ poison, enhancing his core and opening the way to the well. In the garden, he subdues the sentient herbs and secures their book and medicinal treasures through threats 32 33 34 35 36.

He then watches over Tiance’s week-long ice-and-fire tempering experiment. After Tiance resurfaces with a strengthened body and developed Cell Martial Soul, Du Busi agrees to guard Kong while he refines the September Flowing Cloud Flower 37 38.
