Background / History

Qin Muchu awakens the sword during Su Yuntao’s ceremony. Its rust and damaged blade, combined with Qin’s lack of Innate Soul Power, lead Su Yuntao to dismiss his prospects as a Soul Master. The Pay-to-Win System gives Qin enough Soul Power to begin cultivating, although its status panel still identifies his Martial Soul as the Rusty Sword 2.

Qin calls it the Dancing Shadow Sword when Xiao Wu asks about its name. He takes the name from a poem about dancing beneath the moon, imagery that later contributes to his arena identity and his partnership’s name 6 28 29.

In the otherworldly hall, an unnamed young man draws the sword directly from Qin’s body and identifies it as Qingming, a sword he wielded in his youth. Qin can feel its deep attachment to the man through their soul bond. The former wielder praises Qin for accepting the damaged sword and believing in its potential, then restores its true appearance and elevates it to divine grade 41.

• Restored form: Clear as water, radiating sharp sword intent; subsequently described as having a pale-green blade surrounded by flowing light 41 42.
