Background / History

Ninth Soul Ring and Tang Chen’s Gift

Tang Yue accompanies Tang Xing into the Star Dou Great Forest to obtain his ninth Soul Ring, having already selected a 92,000-year-old Three-Headed Golden Lion King. After Tang Yue gravely wounds it, Tang Xing attacks with his strength-enhancing and offensive Soul Skills, then finishes it with the Clear Sky Nine Absolutes’ Pierce Character Art 12 13.

The lion king drops the Three Heads External Soul Bone. Tang Xing declines to absorb it, reasoning that the young Tang Chen’s exceptional potential makes him the better recipient. Before delivering it, he asks Tang Xiao whether giving such a valuable treasure to his cousin would make him resentful. Tang Xiao supports the decision, moving his father to tears; Tang Xing promises to find him a better Soul Bone 13.

Tang Xing presents the bone to Tang Chen as a belated sixth-birthday gift, with Tang Yue’s approval. Tang Chen initially refuses because of its value, but accepts and privately vows to repay the kindness. Much later, he gives Tang Xiao a hundred-thousand-year Titan Giant Ape left-arm bone specifically in repayment of Tang Xing’s gift 14 74.

Clear Sky Team Training

After his breakthrough, Tang Xing agrees to oversee the newly formed Clear Sky Team. He initially objects that he is better at fighting than teaching, but accepts when Tang Yue explains that his primary responsibility is protecting the students. Zhou Yuan handles theory and individualized training plans, while Yang Dongsheng oversees combat training and medicinal baths 13 14.

Tang Xing nevertheless becomes an active instructor. He directs exercises while Zhou Yuan’s programs are unfinished, corrects hammer techniques, and maintains strict discipline. During the team’s arena expedition, he also introduces them to lethal combat by registering them for a team Deathmatch against the Spider Team 15 16 24.

Sect Expansion and Administrative Duties

Tang Xing joins Tang Yue in helping Tang Song and Tang Shuo obtain their ninth Soul Rings and accompanying Soul Bones. Their breakthroughs bring the Clear Sky Sect’s total to four Titled Douluo ahead of its relocation to the Heaven Dou Empire. He later delivers a founding-ceremony invitation to the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Sect 32 33.

Tang Yue repeatedly leaves administrative work to his younger brother. On one occasion, he drags Tang Xing out of bed and deposits him at the sect master’s desk; later, Tang Xing manages official business while Tang Yue cultivates in seclusion. Tang Chen finds him unhappily buried in paperwork 66 81 82.

Personality

Tang Xing places the sect’s future above his own immediate benefit, giving up a rare External Soul Bone to support Tang Chen. His generosity does not erase his concern for Tang Xiao: he worries openly about treating his son unfairly and seeks his understanding before making the gift 13.

As an instructor, he combines practical care with demanding standards. He helps exhausted trainees into medicinal baths, explains how to pace themselves, and warns that repeated mistakes will earn extra training. His approach to Soul Beast hunting is more restrained: when securing Tang Chen’s second Soul Ring, he takes only the selected ape and releases the others because he has no desire to kill unnecessarily 16 19.
