History

The Shanhe Prefecture branch began recruiting martial artists through the Prefectural Governor's Mansion. Initial registration required at least the Blood Moving stage and an age below thirty; successful registrants received Iron Rank tokens before undergoing a later assessment 54.

Candidates were transported to the division for an assessment involving evil spirits. Qin Yang was subsequently accepted into the Evil Extermination Department, where Deputy Division Chief Lu Shengyue explained that the department existed to eradicate evil entities and cults 57.

The Shanhe Sky Patrol Division was formally established in a public ceremony attended by Lu Shengyue, Li Qiuhai, and Gongsun Liang. Its arrival ended the Prefectural Governor's previous position as Shanhe Prefecture City's sole dominant authority, creating an independent force capable of restraining local government 67.

After gaining recognition for killing a Heaven Soul Spirit Master, Qin Yang received a transfer order to the Yongning Sky Patrol Division, whose greater scale and stronger personnel offered broader opportunities 152. The Yongning branch serves as the structural model for commandery divisions 155.

• Division Chief — overall head of a regional Sky Patrol Division. Lu Shengyue and Li Qiuhai competed for the Shanhe position; Zeng Guanghong later became Yongning's Division Chief 58 152 252.

Evil Extermination

The division handles cases involving vengeful spirits, fierce spirits, evil spirits, blood spirits, cults, and ghost artifacts. Evil entities can kill without trace and create widespread chaos, making their elimination the Evil Extermination Department's central duty 57.

• The division assigns Spirit Masters to ghost-artifact cases when their expertise is relevant 157.

Intelligence and Political Oversight

The Sky Patrol Division gathers intelligence through its Patrol and Intelligence Department, which spread throughout Shanhe after the branch's establishment. Evil Extermination personnel can contact the department by leaving a mark at the rear entrance of a city's largest inn 119.

Its authority extends beyond supernatural threats. The division's independence from the Prefectural Governor's Mansion positions it to check local officials, while its arrest of Zhang Han during the Black Fish Tower case brought it into direct conflict with Prefect Gongsun Liang 67 102.

Contribution System

Contribution points are the division's internal reward currency. Members may exchange them for cultivation resources, weapons, movement techniques, and martial arts from Lingxin Tower 57 170 241.

• Qin Yang exchanged points for the heavy saber Cold Abyss 170.
