Background / History

Dai Xuan was among the first imperial family members to pledge allegiance to Fourth Prince Dai Xuanyu. As a collateral relative, he could not compete for the throne himself; supporting a successful prince offered a way to raise his branch’s standing. He admired Xuanyu’s diligence and ambition, although he recognized that the boy’s age placed him at a severe disadvantage in the succession contest 1 2.

He accompanied Xuanyu to his Martial Soul Awakening and was permitted to remain for the confidential Soul Power test. Xuanyu’s legendary Martial Soul and Innate Level Twenty Soul Power vindicated Dai Xuan’s early support. Core imperial relatives who had previously paid him little attention began showing him goodwill, and he became one of those entrusted with the secret of Xuanyu’s appointment as Crown Prince 2 5.

Following the awakening, Dai Xuan handled preparations for Xuanyu’s Soul Ring hunt and helped preserve the secrecy surrounding his cultivation. He later remained at the residence while Xuanyu departed in disguise, maintaining the impression that the prince had entered secluded cultivation. Dai Xuan is protective without being servile. When Dai Mubai attempted to confront Xuanyu at the training ground, he intervened calmly and firmly despite Mubai’s princely rank. He also watched over Xuanyu’s health, reminding him to conserve his strength before his awakening 1.

His loyalty combines genuine admiration with an awareness of political patronage. He privately considered Xuanyu an ideal heir and despised Mubai’s resignation.
