Background / History
Origin and Emergence
The book The Demonic Angel: A Body Without Equal states that Demonic Thought is born when the bearer’s demonic body reaches its first stage. Lu Mingzi initially has no way to determine whether its emergence will benefit or harm him 4.
After six years of training, Lu Mingzi hears an unfamiliar voice proclaiming his destiny for slaughter and dominion. He subsequently discovers the Black Egg in his Spiritual Sea. Its release of Demonic Qi causes severe pain and persistent black markings, prompting him to seek help from Spirit Hall 9 10.
The egg later hatches into Lu Mingzi’s double. When confronted, the consciousness initially refuses to identify itself, but Lu Mingzi provokes it into admitting that it helped him control Demonic Qi. It confirms that it possesses an independent will and memories inherited from the previous Demonic Thought 13 16 17.
Guiding the Inheritor
Demonic Thought teaches Lu Mingzi how devouring Soul Beast bodies and Immortal Herbs can strengthen the Demonic Angel’s devouring ability and enable self-condensed Soul Rings. Its guidance leads him to prioritize Soul Power cultivation and renewed hunting in the Star Dou Great Forest 17.
During the hunt, it warns him of an incoming Titan Giant Ape, comments on his performance, and recounts the exploits of the former inheritor, Song Feng. It also witnesses Deep Blue’s Soul Ring Deduction and learns of the system’s existence 18 19.
When Lu Mingzi is confronted by Tang San’s group and Zhao Wuji, Demonic Thought supplies a high-speed flight escape. It subsequently recognizes Demon Valley, explains the inheritance hidden there, and suggests using Martial Soul resonance to locate Song Feng’s remains 20 21.
Inside the underground passage, it warns Lu Mingzi to keep his Demonic Angel manifested or risk being killed by Song Feng’s legacy. Song Feng’s inscription reveals that his own Demonic Thought was corrupted by Rakshasa, disrupting his divine trial and contributing to his defeat by the Azure Divine Dragon 22.
Appearance
- Initial form: A smooth black egg at the center of Lu Mingzi’s Spiritual Sea 10.
- Hatched form: A human figure identical to Lu Mingzi; fragments of the broken shell remain floating in the Spiritual Sea 16 17.
- Physical nature: A disembodied consciousness, not an independently embodied person 18.
Personality
Demonic Thought is proud, sarcastic, and easily provoked when its contributions are dismissed. It repeatedly compares Lu Mingzi unfavorably with earlier inheritors, yet acknowledges his cleverness after being tricked into revealing its role in controlling Demonic Qi 17.
Its irreverence extends to danger and romance. It sounds excited at the prospect of fighting a powerful Soul Beast, teases Lu Mingzi about Qian Renxue, and recommends coercive romantic behavior that Lu Mingzi rejects. Despite its flippancy, it gives practical warnings and becomes unusually serious around Song Feng’s inheritance 16 18 19 22.
Its investment in Lu Mingzi’s growth is personal: if he becomes a god, it will also attain godhood, gain its own body, and become free. If he dies, it dies with him 17.
Abilities & Skills
Demonic Qi Control
- Helps Lu Mingzi control Demonic Qi following its hatching 17.

- Song Feng — Previous Demonic Angel inheritor whose exploits it remembers and frequently uses as a benchmark for Lu Mingzi 19 21.
- Qian Renxue — Recognizes her Six-Winged Angel as relevant to Lu Mingzi’s growth; teases him about his feelings and urges him to pursue yin–yang union with her 16 17 19.
