Background / History

Capture and Failed Sacrifice

Tian Meng came from the Far North and accumulated enormous energy through a life largely spent eating and sleeping. After leaving, Tian Meng was captured by Di Tian and exploited by the Star Dou Great Forest’s Ferocious Beasts to increase their cultivation ages. The initial account recasts this captivity as a heroic battle followed by voluntary assistance, but Tang Qi exposes the embellishment 15 16.

Before bonding with Huo Yutong, Tian Meng attempted to sacrifice to a Sun Moon Empire Evil Soul Master who was also a Level 7 Soul Engineer. The recipient exploded after Tian Meng examined his memories. This failure prompted Tian Meng to seal much of the essence during the later sacrifice to Yutong 35.

Bonding with Huo Yutong

After escaping captivity, Tian Meng faced an approaching heavenly tribulation and needed a host. Finding Yutong injured after fighting a Wind Baboon, Tian Meng offered a choice between its Ten-Year Soul Ring and a Million-Year Mental Attribute Soul Ring, then began merging before receiving her agreement 14 15.

Tang Qi condemned the unapproved sacrifice but healed Yutong with life force drawn from Blue Silver Grass. Tian Meng initially considered fleeing, then emerged to question his intentions. Despite becoming Yutong’s companion, Tian Meng admitted that Tang Qi would have been the preferred host if he had been a spirit-type Soul Master 14 15.

When Electrolux’s remnant consciousness descended, Tian Meng failed to intercept it. After Tang San purified its guiding will, Tian Meng restrained the uncontrolled remaining energy inside Yutong and called for help. This containment enabled Tang Qi and Tang San to preserve the energy as Yutong’s artificial Holy Necromancer Martial Soul 16.

Life at Shrek Academy

Tian Meng accompanied Yutong to Shrek, offering advice from within her Sea of Consciousness and teasing her about Tang Qi’s attentiveness. When asked to teach cultivation, Tian Meng instead directed her to Tang Qi’s handwritten Mysterious Heaven Treasure Record. The Soul Engineer’s stolen memories later provided a more concrete basis for teaching beginner Soul Tool knowledge 25 35.

During Ma Xiaotao’s Evil Fire rampage, Tian Meng warned Yutong to flee and offered to take control of her body to freeze the attacker. Tang Qi refused the offer and protected the girls himself. Tian Meng later considered possessing Yutong during Yan Shaozhe’s attack on Tang Qi, despite acknowledging an inability to defeat the dean; Xuan Zi intervened first 39 40 43.

Far North Expedition

Tian Meng initially proposed giving Tang Qi an ice-attribute Martial Soul slot because Yutong already had the Holy Necromancer and several cultivation systems to study. The plan later expanded to both humans: the Snow Empress would become Tang Qi’s Martial Soul, while the Ice Empress would join Yutong 17 92.

In Tang Qi’s Sea of Consciousness, Tian Meng used source power to establish the foundation for a fourth Martial Soul slot, deliberately leaving its completion to the Snow Empress. Tian Meng then returned to prepare Yutong’s third slot. During the expedition, the shed silkworm skin provided warmth and concealed the pair’s presence 93.

At the Ice Jade Scorpion Clan’s territory, Tian Meng summoned the Ice Empress and explained the plan to create a god and share eternal life. Tai Tan’s testimony revealed a greater possibility than Tian Meng had expected: rebuilding an independent body rather than remaining permanently host-bound. When the Ice Empress tried to choose Tang Qi instead of Yutong, Tian Meng objected out of fear of being left behind. Tang Qi upheld the original arrangement 94 95.

Appearance

  • Usual spirit form: A petite, floating girl with a golden hood, long blond hair, golden eyes, pale skin, and an unusually full bust relative to the small frame 15.
  • Tangible manifestation: The condensed energy body has a soft, slightly cold surface created by an ice-element shell 17.
  • Big-sister form: A tall adult figure with flowing golden hair, long legs, a skirt, bare feet, and a gentle, maternal-looking expression that contrasts with Tian Meng’s provocative teasing 94.
  • Spiritual clothing: Can cover the body with spiritual power resembling a gauzy robe 35.

Personality

Tian Meng is boastful, lazy, and shamelessly flirtatious. Grand claims frequently conceal less flattering facts, most notably the supposed battle with Di Tian. Even after becoming Yutong’s companion, Tian Meng prioritizes sleep and admits to knowing little about conventional cultivation despite the enormous cultivation age 15 18 25.

The teasing does not prevent genuine protectiveness. Tian Meng calms Yutong during traumatic recollections, criticizes her punishing schedule, and prepares to intervene when she faces stronger opponents. However, concern is mixed with self-interest: strengthening Yutong and Tang Qi is also the means to Tian Meng’s own hoped-for immortality 30 39 43 92.

Tian Meng becomes possessive when others grow close to Tang Qi and fears being excluded from the group’s eventual ascension. The dispute over the Ice Empress’s recipient exposes this insecurity beneath the confident presentation 54 79 95.

Abilities & Skills

Spiritual Origin and Mental Power

Tian Meng retains million-year Spiritual Origin after the sacrifice, operating primarily from Yutong’s Sea of Consciousness 16 94.

  • Can manifest outside the host and communicate with nearby people 15.
  • Restrains Electrolux’s unstable residual energy, but cannot independently resolve it 16.
  • Uses mental power to put Yutong to sleep during distress and before the artificial Martial Soul procedure 16 30.
  • Senses approaching people and warns of immediate danger 17 39.

Sealed Energy Reserve

Most of Tian Meng’s energy remains sealed because Yutong cannot safely bear the full essence 15 35.

  • Promises that the million-year reserve will gradually unlock to support Yutong’s growth 19.
  • The earlier recipient’s fatal collapse demonstrates the danger of an uncontrolled sacrifice 35.

Ice-Attribute Martial Soul Foundations

Tian Meng can use source power and fine threads of mental power to establish blank ice-attribute Martial Soul slots 17 93.

  • Lays the foundation for Tang Qi’s fourth Martial Soul 93.
  • Intends the Snow Empress to complete that foundation through sacrifice rather than accidentally producing an Ice Silkworm Martial Soul 93.
  • Plans a corresponding slot for Yutong to receive the Ice Empress 92 93.

Host Control and Ice Power

Tian Meng offers to control Yutong’s body and use ice power during emergencies 39 40.

  • Proposes freezing the out-of-control Ma Xiaotao; Tang Qi declines, so the technique is not demonstrated in that fight 40.
  • Considers possession to help Tang Qi against Yan Shaozhe, but Xuan Zi stops the confrontation first 43.
  • Acknowledges being no match for Yan Shaozhe despite the million-year cultivation 43.

Soul Tool Knowledge

Tian Meng acquired memories from a Level 7 Soul Engineer of the Sun Moon Empire 35.

  • Offers to teach Yutong beginner Soul Tool knowledge 35.
  • Does not demonstrate independent Level 7 engineering ability in the supplied events 35.

Spirit-Body Manipulation

  • Condenses a physically tangible energy body with an ice shell 17.
  • Enlarges the manifestation into the adult big-sister form using energy from Yutong 94.
  • Remains intangible when the Ice Empress attacks with her tail, which passes through the Spiritual Origin 94.

Equipment / Items

  • Shed silkworm skin — Wraps around Tang Qi and Yutong to keep them warm and conceal their presence in the Far North 93.

Relationships

  • Huo Yutong — Host and closest companion. Yutong calls Tian Meng “Sister”; Tian Meng protects her, encourages her growth, and repeatedly teases her about Tang Qi 16 25 39.
  • Tang Qi — Ally, object of attraction, and central investment in the plan for godhood. Tian Meng gives him a Martial Soul foundation and becomes jealous of his intimacy with Tang Ya 17 79 93.
  • Ice Empress / Bingbing — Familiar acquaintance whose exchanges with Tian Meng alternate between teasing, hostility, and negotiation. Tian Meng recruits her for Yutong but opposes her attempt to sacrifice to Tang Qi instead 94 95.
  • Snow Empress / Xue’er — Intended recipient of Tian Meng’s recruitment efforts and proposed Martial Soul for Tang Qi. Tian Meng does not know where she lives and seeks the Ice Empress’s guidance 17 93.
  • Tai Tan — Protector during the Far North expedition and living evidence that sacrifice to a god can lead to independent eternal life 94 95.
  • Di Tian and the Ferocious Beasts — Former captors who exploited Tian Meng’s accumulated energy to increase their cultivation 15.

Notable Quotes

“But I'm taking another path: creating a god and sharing endless life with them.” 94

“Classes all morning, preparing ingredients for grilled fish all afternoon, then grilling fish until late at night.” 39

Trivia

  • Tian Meng claims to be the continent’s first Million-Year Soul Beast, but does not recognize the Deep Sea Demonic Whale King when Tang Qi asks about him 15.
  • After announcing the expedition’s targets as the Far North’s “second and third great rulers,” Tian Meng privately reserves first place for herself 93.
  • Imagines becoming a “Goddess of Wisdom” after arranging the Snow Empress–Ice Empress plan; this remains an ambition, not an attained divine title 92.
