"A show?"
At Shinji's words, Nobihi, Madara Uchiha, and the others all looked puzzled.
"Young man, what show?" Hashirama Senju scratched his head.
"No rush." Shinji turned to Madara Uchiha. "Lord Madara, aren't you going to take back your eyes?"
Madara Uchiha froze.
Then, without a word, he leaped over and landed in front of Obito Uchiha.
Obito lay facedown on the ground, his neck completely broken. Yet he still clung to life, slowly healing.
Madara stared at him for a long time. Their eyes met, but neither spoke.
"You were just a child back then..." Madara finally said. He shook his head.
"...Forget it. What's the point of saying that now?"
Under Obito Uchiha's silent gaze, Madara Uchiha bent down and reached out.
Squelch!
His fingers plunged straight into Obito Uchiha's eye sockets and plucked out both eyes.
One swift motion.
Then he decisively pulled out his own left eye.
He fitted the Rinnegan into place. Feeling the long-lost, complete power of both Rinnegan, he smiled.
"These eyes."
Madara Uchiha looked down at the pair of Mangekyo Sharingan in his hand and shook his head. "Space-time. Not a bad Dōjutsu. What a shame."
With that, he left.
He did not spare Obito another glance. He wanted to see what Shinji meant by a "show."
Crack—
Madara Uchiha had barely walked away when another faint crack came from Obito Uchiha's neck.
Then...
Something beneath Obito seemed to lift his limp body off the ground!
Squelch!
Obito Uchiha looked down in shock. With the sensory ability he still possessed as a Jinchūriki, he sensed Black Zetsu rising beneath him, taking the form of a little black figure and hoisting him up.
Confusion crossed his face.
"Zetsu..."
"Hahaha! Did you really think you'd killed me?!" One of Black Zetsu's arms pierced up
