Orphanhood and village prejudice

Villagers subsequently blamed Naruto for the beast’s destruction and treated him as a “Fox Demon.” Mikoto wanted to take him in, but the Uchiha’s political scrutiny and Naruto’s position as the next Nine-Tails jinchūriki made that impossible 235 236.

His first documented meeting with Shinji occurs while he is frightened of being hated.
