By mid-May, the weather had begun to show the first hints of heat.
On the streets of Bunta City, many young girls had eagerly changed into light dresses, boldly showing off their long, fair calves to passersby.
Some even bolder girls had changed into short tops normally reserved for the heat of summer, baring their delicate arms and broad expanses of pale skin above their chests. Like the brilliant sunshine overhead, they left the men on the street, young and not so young alike, feeling dazzled.
As though responding to these bold girls' reaction to the first hint of heat, shops large and small throughout Bunta City had also begun making their own preparations early.
Walking through Bunta City's streets and alleys, one could see a Magic Fan or several sitting on the counters of shops everywhere, tirelessly blowing cool breezes outside, regardless of the fact that using a fan at this time of year felt more chilly than refreshing.
A closer look, however, would reveal something surprising: not a single one of the Magic Fans displayed in these shops had the Xinfei Merchant Guild's badge engraved on its base. Instead, they bore all sorts of different badges.
In other words, none of these Magic Fans had come from the Xinfei Merchant Guild!
In Bunta City as it was now, this was almost unimaginable.
Although the Xinfei Merchant Guild was still two months short of its first anniversary, in that brief time, everyone in and around Bunta City had already come to regard it as the face of magic machinery. Whenever magic machinery was mentioned, the Xinfei Merchant Guild was invariably the first thing that came to mind.
What was more, the Magic Fan had been the first piece of magic machinery Xu Yi and the Xinfei Merchant Guild introduced.
