Although it was already March and the harsh winter had passed, the nights were still cold.
Normally, on cold nights like these, most people in Bunta City chose to stay home, either snuggling under warm blankets or enjoying the warm air from their Magic Air Conditioners.
Unless something special came up, no one wanted to go out.
Tonight, however, the people of Bunta City broke with their usual habits. As soon as darkness fell and they finished dinner, they left their warm homes and streamed toward the Civic Square in the city center, braving a breeze that still carried a distinct chill.
The sky had only just gone completely dark, but the roads leading to the Civic Square were already packed solid with people.
When the weather was milder, plenty of Bunta City residents would come to the Civic Square for an evening stroll, but never before had so many flocked there all at once.
This was because, a week earlier, the Bunta Daily had run an enormous front-page headline announcing that, one week later, the Bunta City Civic Square would unveil a brand-new look, transforming the entire square.
The City Lord, Count Samo, had even shared his views through the Bunta Daily, declaring that the New Civic Square would open everyone's eyes and leave them amazed.
As the Bunta City Mayor, Count Samo rarely made such definite and somewhat extravagant statements, so the report in the Bunta Daily had immediately whetted the appetite of everyone in the city.
What exactly would this new Civic Square look like, for the City Lord to have gone so far as to call it "unbelievable"?
After that report, starting the very next day, each issue of the Bunta Daily displayed a huge number in the most prominent spot on its front page.
