The empty space suddenly trembled faintly, and ripples appeared out of thin air.
The entire space seemed like the surface of water into which a pebble had suddenly been dropped. Ripples spread outward, their vibrations blurring the space itself.
As the ripples vibrated faster and faster, the entire space grew increasingly fragmented. Finally, the ripples joined together, shattering the space into a forbidden zone that inspired dread at a glance.
Xu Yi watched the space slowly transform until he could no longer resist speaking.
"This doesn't seem any different from ordinary space magic, does it?"
Great Mage Camilla was concentrating on gathering her mana and had no time to respond. Great Mage Truchi, standing beside them, frowned and shot Xu Yi a glare.
"Be patient and watch. This is fundamentally different from ordinary space magic."
"Really?"
Xu Yi nevertheless fell silent and continued watching Great Mage Camilla.
When Great Mage Truchi had excitedly told him that Great Mage Camilla had actually broken through the limits of a Great Mage and successfully mastered spatial laws, he could scarcely believe his own ears.
Mastery of spatial laws was an ability only mages at the archmage tier possessed. If Great Mage Camilla had truly achieved it, didn't that mean she had actually advanced to become a Grand Archmage?
Although Great Mage Camilla had shown some signs of having grasped spatial laws last year, by the usual standards for mages, there was a world of difference between merely touching upon spatial laws and mastering them completely.
Understanding that difference could take a mage years of dedicated magical research, or even decades.
Indeed, many mages spent their entire lives at the boundary between Great Mage and Archmage, never managing to break through.
Yet Great Mage Camilla had crossed that boundary in just one year. It
