At the end of May, 3793 of the Continent Calendar, news from the Xinfei Merchant Guild and the Mana Magical Kingdom drew the attention of the entire Sains Continent.
When the Xinfei Merchant Guild Guard Corps unexpectedly attacked the Mana Magical Kingdom in mid-May, almost everyone thought they were asking for trouble and would ultimately suffer a crushing defeat.
Yet at the end of May, the Xinfei Merchant Guild suddenly issued an official announcement through various channels, declaring that its military operation against the Mana Magical Kingdom had achieved satisfactory results.
The operation had effectively struck its intended targets: certain mages within the Mana Magical Kingdom who were hostile toward the Xinfei Merchant Guild and had robbed its Transport Fleet.
The Xinfei Merchant Guild believed this would serve as a stern warning to mages harboring ill intentions toward it and prevent similar incidents in the future.
It also warned the Mana Magical Kingdom to keep its mages under effective control. If such an incident occurred again, the Xinfei Merchant Guild would not hesitate to launch another retaliatory operation.
Judging by this statement alone, the Xinfei Merchant Guild had undoubtedly achieved tremendous success in its attack on the Mana Magical Kingdom. Otherwise, it would not have had the confidence to issue such a warning.
Many people, however, remained skeptical of the Xinfei Merchant Guild's official statement.
After all, the Mana Magical Kingdom was unlike any other country on the continent. With its exceptionally large population of mages, it should have been the country best equipped to counter the Xinfei Merchant Guild Guard Corps, far surpassing even the Candel Empire and the Malo Empire.
