Abaddon was the first to reach the battlefield.
He leaped from the Thunderhawk's hatch, his Justaerin Terminator Armour crashing heavily against the ground and cracking the flagstones beneath his feet.
His gaze swept across the battlefield and fixed on the advancing Raven Guard warriors.
The traitors in black Power Armour were pushing toward the heart of Antioch Fortress. Their objective was clear: the underground crypt where Lorgar's body lay buried.
Facing the approaching Raven Guard, Abaddon spared no thought for the bonds they had once shared as brother Legions.
Those Raven Guard had once been among the Imperium's most loyal warriors. They had fought shoulder to shoulder with the Luna Wolves against countless enemies.
But now they were all traitors, enemies who had to be eliminated.

Abaddon seized a Raven Guard Legion warrior by the neck with one hand.
His fingers tightened. The Power Armour screeched beneath his grip, its surface beginning to buckle and crack.
The Raven Guard warrior struggled, trying to slash Abaddon's arm with his Chainsword, but Abaddon's other hand was faster.
He caught the Chainsword by its blade, wrenched it from the warrior's hand, then severed his head with a backhanded slash.
Then Abaddon hoisted the headless body high and slammed it into the ground. Planting his boot on the warrior's chest, he brutally twisted his neck apart.
The body twitched a few times before finally falling still.
Loken, Torgaddon, Kaebo, and the others followed close behind.
They were all elite warriors of the Luna Wolves, veterans who had survived the Vengeful Spirit alongside Abaddon.
Their armour was covered in battle scars, their weapons drenched in enemy blood. Following behind Abaddon, they drove into the Raven Guard lines like a keen blade.
Of them all, Abaddon was still the strongest.
