As the last enemy went flying, Lorgar ended his virtual reality training.

Looking at the kill count of "945000000" on the screen, Lorgar sighed.

Mathieu and Seras had already been waiting outside the training room for some time. Once Lorgar had changed back into his robes, Seras spoke first. "Father, we're only a few hundred light-years from Nuceria. Should we prepare for battle?"

"Seras, you'll come down with me."

"Mathieu, you're responsible for telling the legionaries to prepare for battle."

Lorgar intended to go down himself to rescue Angron, while Mathieu and Seras's adjutant, Ethan Walker, would coordinate the overall strategy.

Once he had slaughtered most of those down below, the legionaries could descend.

Lorgar wasn't worried about losing control of the situation. His recent training had made wielding psychic energy second nature to him. Though he couldn't yet shatter an entire star system as effortlessly as Magnus, he could still destroy a City with a flick of his fingers.

"The fleet will go silent. Do not attack without orders."

The vast fleet hung silently at the edge of Nuceria's gravity well, like a pack of Behemoths lurking in the void.

As Primarch Lorgar's order spread throughout the ship over encrypted channels, the mighty warship swiftly entered full silent running.

The roar of its engines dropped to a minimum, its immense energy signature was deliberately suppressed, and the lights across its hull went out one by one. Only essential sensors and the Communications Array remained active at the lowest possible power.

Meanwhile, an unremarkable little transport slipped silently out of the docking bay, adjusted its heading, and plunged toward the Planet below, shrouded in thick clouds.

Inside the transport, Lorgar had removed the magnificent Power Armour that proclaimed his status and strength, replacing it with a dark disguise uniform
