"Why?"

Magnus's voice echoed through the empty Bridge, laden with anger and hurt he could no longer suppress.

A complex fire burned in his single eye, mingling confusion, resentment, fury, and the wounded indignation of a child who had been treated unfairly.

He spun around, his white robes sweeping an arc through the air. His gaze fell on Ahriman, yet seemed to pierce straight through him, fixing on somewhere far more distant.

"Why can Lorgar use psychic energy without restraint, while I cannot?" His voice rose, charged with agitation, as though he were demanding answers from someone who was not there.

"The Emperor has warned me countless times. He warned me not to delve too deeply into the Warp, not to lose myself in the exploration of psychic energy, not to pry into knowledge he does not want me to possess. But he has never warned Lorgar! Never!"

He strode into the center of the Bridge. The crystal floor sounded softly beneath his footsteps, reflecting his furious, agitated figure.

He raised a hand and swept it sharply through the air. Psychic energy erupted from his fingertips, leaving a blue, lightning-like trail.

The trail lingered for a moment before dissipating, leaving ripples of distorted space like the surface of water that had been stirred.

"You saw what Lorgar did on Davin! We all saw it!" Magnus continued, his voice rising higher.

"He used psychic energy without a care! He set an entire moon ablaze, drove it toward the planet, and destroyed both celestial bodies in golden flames! That release of power, that use of psychic energy! If I had done that, the Emperor would already have sent someone to question me! But Lorgar? No one said a word to him! No one warned him! No one restricted him!"

His voice reverberated
